I don't like the scales. He does look like he's just come from "Thriller". Looks a little too much like animal for me.

Yeah, I'm pretty much all for the gorgeous blue guy.

And I think having a tail is enough to make people reach for their pitchforks no matter HOW good-looking you are, don't you think?

I love to see handsome guys too, but when I see those photo manipulations in which some handsome actor is colored blue, I just thought it looked weird. I've always thought of Kurt being rather montrous. If he was too good-looking, he'd just be Archangel. Now that painting BC posted is way too ugly, but I think its on the right track. If he's not a freaky scary lookin dude a lot of what makes him work as a character is gone. That is all my opinion of course.

I agree with Drags, but I also agree with Spatula Gal. If they wanted to introduce him in the movie as Mystique and Sabertooth's son, he'd be much more believable as... that.

But my take on wether Kurt's sposed to be monstrous is that people might be more inclined to hate him for being good-looking A) because the more religious types might figure him for a sort of incubus (or something. Yeah.) or B) because he's just damn good-looking in spite of fur, fangs, and a tail (or perhaps because of said features) and there's a lot of guys who might feel threatened by that. And don't mind me if that didn't make any sense. I'm sorta tired. *dozes off...... >snort<* Gack, I'm awake. o_o

*coughs* Of course, all this is balanced with my basic theory that any character I actually like in a story/comic/novel will always be played by the worst possible person they could ever find. And the makeup will ultra-suck. Just watch.

It's a pretty good pic, but i think it goes too far in making him monsterous... With this amount of make-up the actor wouldn't be able to do much more than snarl.

I think, less eyebrow action, smaller fangs (more like dracula, less like a werewolf), lose the wolverine-mutton-chops, and a narrower nose..

And make sure he's BLUE!!!!

(Still, all in all i would prefer a fuzzy semi-handsome guy too.)

I'm not saying he should look like that painting. I don't like the hands and it looks like the artist just stuck Sabretooth's head on and colored it . And his skin is pasty lavender when it should be indigo blue. But one thing I think is cool is that his "costume" appears to be part of his skin. That's very similar to the movie-Mystique look. Maybe he has a limited shape-shifting power that is just in his skin he and can alter his coloring like a cameleon, hence shadow-blend. I'm imagining my own movie-Kurt who has blue/black fur and red hair/fur/scales growing about his shoulders and chest. He probably doesn't wear a lot of clothes because they would interfer with his powers.

I just think he won't be believable in a live action movie if he's just an actor painted blue (then again, I have never seen Garble's Stephen Dorff as Kurt, so I could be wrong. )or if he's totally cute like the Evo elf.

They could take a handsome actor and make him look freaky, so when people hate and fear him its believable, but in close-ups you can see he's really an attractive fellow. They seem to have done it well with Mystique; there was an attractive actress underneath those scales, but she was still pretty damned freaky. I think it would be cool for viewers not familiar with the character to see this freaky, Mystique-like dude who turns out to be a good-guy.

I must add, that scales sort of makes sense, since fur is awfully hard to do convincingly on screen and they already did Mystique with scales. this picture is rather smartly thought out, it should lose the facial hair a little though...
If that director has any brains in his head he won't go for the "cute fuzzy" look of course. He'll go for the original Cockrum design, the GSX#1 look. And he was a real ugly devil that early on.

ELWING, SPATULA a part of me sees your argument and agrees with ya. The other part wants em to follow the 'Good looking dude who just happens to be blue, furry, have fangs etc.' paradigm.

Why, you ask?

A part of it is 'cause that's the Nightcrawler i've gotten used to. Another REALLY big reason is so that the movie Kurt can expand & solidify on something the comic and Evolution Kurt already have in spades.

FEMALE FAN SUPPORT. The average guy/lay person not familiar with the X-mythos might think Nightcrawler's cool regardless. If Kurt is monstrous (unattractive monstrous) I think you'll lose out on a lot of the future fanbase that Nightkiddo seems to be establishing. (I imagine that as they get older, the curiosity of the average 8-13 yr old Nightkiddo/Evolution fan will lead to them eventually following the adventures of the comic book Kurt.)
(I know, it's kinda silly to look that far ahead!) I want a Kurt that's going to have the best chance to attract as many new fans as possible! Thus emphasizing the need for, and importance of, Nightcrawler in the main Marvel Universe.

( Also makes it harder for any incoming hot-shot writers to try and make their mark on X-history by killing Kurt off! )
